MX3D is a Dutch technology pioneer and global leader in robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing, offering turnkey solutions for 3D printing large-scale metal components. Their patented control software, MetalXL, enables precise, flexible deposition of certified parts using standard welding wire.
Whether you’re replacing castings, machining hard-to-cut alloys, or building large metal parts, MX3D’s WAAM systems offer a certified, flexible, and cost-effective solution built for real production.
Use topology optimization to reduce weight by >50%, boosting performance and reducing cost.
Generate toolpaths based on part geometry, material, and deposition strategy.
Print at 1-4kg/hour; semi-autonomous 24/7 production of 100+ kg parts in days.
Finish via CNC, grinding, heat treatment for final net shape and mechanical performance.
Produce large, complex parts faster than ever (up to 10kg/hr) with MX3D’s autonomous robotic welding systems – installed and supported by Phillips.
Produce high-integrity parts with MX3D in-process parameter control – with engineering support from Phillips.
MetalXL end-to-end software provides real-time closed-loop control from design to deposition. Seamless implementation and training included.
Access one of the broadest ranges of weldable metal alloys – all qualified, and backed by our team of additive manufacturing experts.
Reduce lead times and total cost of ownership with a turnkey WAAM solution – up to 5x more cost effective than competing technologies.

Most materials supplied as a wire for arc welding are also compatible with WAAM. Next to aluminum, steels and bronze alloys, also copper-based alloys, invar, Inconel and titanium are suitable for WAAM if the system’s atmosphere allows for it. This gives WAAM access to one of the broadest ranges of materials for metal AM on the market. Moreover, compared to other stocks, weldable wires are generally more affordable, accessible, and available worldwide.
