METAL 3D Printing Systems Solutions

A metal 3D printing fabricates metal objects from materials like titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel, following 3D CAD designs. While resin 3D printers are modeling material and commonly employed across various industries, metal 3D printing is increasingly gaining traction for its ability to produce durable and complex parts. Metal 3D printed parts are fully dense and incorporate complex geometries.

DISCOVER THE POWER OF INNOVATION

Composite & Polymer 3D Printing Solutions

Composite materials are generally composed of a thermoplastic base polymer combined with reinforcing fibers. These fibers, which can be made from carbon, glass, or even metals, significantly enhance the material’s strength, stiffness, and thermal characteristics. Using composite materials in 3D printing offers numerous advantages, such as increased strength, reduced weight, and better thermal performance.

Additive manufacturing technology brief

Stereolithography printing
SLA is based on the process of photopolymerization. SLA resin 3D printers employ laser rays to convert or cure the liquid resin into hard plastic. Parts manufactured through SLA printing are sharp-edged, and have a smooth surface finish with minimally visible layer lines. The SLA technology has widespread applications, including product design, medicine, jewelry, model making, education, engineering, and more

Selective laser sintering SLS 3D printing uses a high-powered laser to fuse small particles of polymer powder. This printing technology is ideal for products with interior features, undercuts, thin walls but with complex geometries. The unfused powder gives added support to the part during the printing process. SLS is preferred for functional prototyping and suitable for economical delivery for bridge manufacturing or short-run injection molding.

SLS for Composite 3D Printing
SLS, an advanced additive technology uses a laser to fuse powdered materials such as
polymers, and metals, layer upon layer to create 3D objects. The powder can be a combination of TPEs, TPUs, or nylon depending upon the characteristics required in the final product. EOS SLS technology is an all powerful solution that allows for the production of critical and complex functional parts using varied composite materials.

DMLS for 3D Metal Printing
DMLS is preferred for serial manufacturing of 3d metal parts for many industries. The major applications of DMLS 3D printing are medical, automotive, tools, turbomachinery and aerospace. EOS is a major global provider of DMLS.

THE RIGHT 3D PRINTER

Additive manufacturing is among the 10 biggest future trends for the industry. AM has acquired the status of a mainstream manufacturing process.

It’s numerous advantages over conventional manufacturing, have captured the imagination of the fraternity, resulting in AM being referred to as the third industrial revolution.

PRO TIPS

Expert Tips on Using 3D Printers Effectively

  • Layer Height : Use the appropriate layer height for your model. Lower layer heights provide better detail but take longer to print. Higher layer heights print faster but may reduce detail.
  • Orientation : Orient your model to minimize the need for support structures. This can reduce material usage, print time, and post-processing work.
  • Batch Printing : Print multiple parts in a single batch to maximize printer usage and reduce idle time. Ensure the printer bed is large enough to accommodate multiple parts without compromising quality.
  • Infill Density : Adjust infill density to balance strength and material usage. Lower infill densities use less material and print faster, suitable for non-structural parts.
