The Johnford ST Series of horizontal turning centers offers 28 machine configurations designed for large, heavy-duty turning applications. A one-piece, 60° slant-bed torque-tube design and rigid Meehanite cast-iron construction provide excellent rigidity, heat dissipation, and long-term accuracy.

Rigid box ways, precision ballscrews, and powerful geared spindle configurations provide the stability and torque needed for demanding machining. The headstock, tailstock, and saddle share the same 60° plane, while a separate coolant tank helps minimize heat transfer and maintain thermal stability.

Standard features include a large chuck, complete coolant system, and programmable hydraulic tailstock. Available live tooling, C-axis, Y-axis, high-pressure coolant, and additional tooling configurations allow the ST Series to be tailored for more complex production requirements.
