Combination Moving Column Table-Type Horizontal Machining Center

The Johnford AHC-1600 moving-column table-type horizontal machining center delivers the rigidity, accuracy, and versatility required for aerospace and other demanding machining applications. Its moving-column Z axis and fully supported moving-table X axis accommodate heavy table loads without the need for outriggers or outboard supports.

Built on a rigid Meehanite cast-iron structure, the AHC-1600 features precision box ways, pre-tensioned ballscrews, powerful servo motors, and Heidenhain linear scales for consistent positioning and accuracy. A powerful 50-taper spindle with oil cooling helps minimize thermal growth, with higher-speed spindle options available.

Standard features include a 40-tool automatic tool changer, comprehensive chip removal and high-volume coolant systems, full machine enclosure, and a combination flat table with a built-in full B-axis rotary table. Fanuc control options support applications ranging from general machining to demanding 5-axis simultaneous contouring.
