Digital Systems Product Manager for Phillips Federal, the federal division of Phillips Corporation. With more than 30 years of hands-on experience in precision manufacturing, he is a recognized expert in Mastercam programming, post-processor development, and manufacturing technology education. Colin specializes in helping manufacturers bridge traditional shop-floor operations with modern digital tools to improve productivity, quality, and technical capability.
A dedicated educator and trainer throughout his career, Colin has taught and mentored countless programmers and machinists. He previously served as the Mastercam and VERICUT Focal at Boeing, where he supported a large team of NC programmers on complex composite machining programs and lean initiatives. He later joined CNC Software (Mastercam) as a Post Processor Engineer, developing custom post processors and delivering training to users worldwide. Colin also owned and operated Gilchrist Consulting Services, providing CNC programming, post-processor customization, and technical training to manufacturers across multiple industries. He has held applications engineering roles at leading machine tool distributors, where he continued to focus on process optimization and customer enablement.
In his current role, Colin leads the development of integrated manufacturing technology solutions, with a strong emphasis on the Mastercam ecosystem, advanced CNC programming support, cybersecurity for industrial equipment, machine data collection, and technical training services—particularly for government and defense customers. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and is known for his practical, shop-floor-first approach to technology adoption.
Colin holds a Certificate of 1,000 Hours in Precision Machining Technology from Lake Washington Institute of Technology. He also maintains a YouTube channel dedicated to post-processor development and CNC programming education.
Senior Applications Engineer at Mastercam with over 13 years of experience. He began his career at Mastercam supporting customers with advanced technical solutions and training. Jesse has extensive hands-on expertise programming and operating a wide range of CNC equipment, including complex 5-axis mills and multitasking mill-turn machines.
He regularly shares his manufacturing knowledge with global audiences through in-person engagements as well as Mastercam’s online videos, tutorials, and social media content. His deep expertise in both Mastercam and CNC manufacturing plays a key role in strengthening relationships with customers and partners, including OEM machine tool builders, the Mastercam Channel network, and tooling, workholding, and software providers.
Jesse holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining Mastercam, he worked in R&D for the U.S. Navy as a Civilian Acquisition & Manufacturing Engineer, and earlier as an engineer at a local aerospace supplier.
