As part of the Phillips Federal Division, John Hartley is described as a true team player. He’s always ready to roll up his sleeves and dive deep into work when it’s necessary.
He’s involved in his community outside of work as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America and as an Official for USA Swimming. His daughter, Angelina, is nationally ranked in her swimming age group. In his additional spare time, he enjoys restoring cars. His all-time favorite model is the Ford Mustang.
John Harrison comments on John Hartley’s commitment,
“John had taken over a large territory and had a handful of accounts that had lost touch with Phillips. In a short period of time, he has logged many miles and many nights in hotels to regain the confidence of the customers.”
Even in the face of big obstacles, Hartley is able to work with his team no matter the circumstances. Imagine a facility with no heat with the average tempering hovering around 30 – 40 degrees. As an Account Manager, John usually isn’t in the trenches for installs, but when the team needed him, he was there. John Murray remember,
“Despite the cold and a delay associated with a shipper, he stayed focused on the job and conducted an inventory of over 200 items with the customer, to assure they were satisfied. This effort allowed me to concentrate on coordinating the delivery of the machineand coordinating support with the customer for site help, culminating in the satisfaction of the customer and a machine sign off within 5 business days of install. It is also of note that John, ever the salesman, was talking with the customer and another adjoining shop while we waited for the tubing bender to arrive. During that time he created 3 new projects and coordinated with our onsite electricians for installation price quotes for these three new projects.”
Hartley is always on his A-game. His competitive spirit helps drive comradery amongst the Federal Account Managers. Despite facing less than predictable opportunities in certain regions, collaboration with other partners led to originally unforeseen opportunities for machine sales. Whether it be late, late nights or working with other partners of the Federal team, John Hartley gives it his all. We’re proud to honor him as a Phillips Brand Ambassador.
